Professor Patricia Yazbeck
Professor Yazbeck is a Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the St Joseph University, Beirut and has been a full-time physician in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at Hotel-Dieu de France Hospital since 1982. She is also President of the Pan Arab Federation of Societies of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management (PAFSA), a Regional Section of the WFSA.
She holds a Medical Degree from St. Joseph University, Beirut-Lebanon (ECFMG diploma), Anesthesia and Critical Care Specialist Diploma from the René Descartes University, Paris-France, and a diploma in Ethics, St Joseph’s University, Beirut, Lebanon.
Professor Yazbeck has served as Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Hotel-Dieu de France Hospital from 1999 to 2005, followed by Head of Anesthesia and Surgical Critical Care Department at Hotel-Dieu de France hospital since 2005 till now. Reappointed twice in 2009 and 2013.
She has also held positions as Director of Medical Affairs, Hotel-Dieu de France Hospital, Anesthesia & Surgical Critical Care Residency Program Director, Head of the Organ Procurement Unit at Hotel-Dieu de France Hospital, Founding member of the Lebanese Society of Critical Care Medicine (LSCCM) in 2002 and Past-President of the LSCCM and actual vice President of LSCCM. Past-President of the LSA and President of the PanArab congress of anesthesia 2014, Amman.
Memberships: Co-opted member of the WFSA council, Member of the Anesthesia Arab Board Examiners committee, December 2016, French Society of Anesthesia and Critical Care, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the French Society of Reanimation.
Professor Yazbeck has also served as a reviewer for The Lebanese Medical Journal, a speaker in many national and international conferences and authored many articles in local and international medical journals.
